Understand Arithmetic before you start

Read this if you're new to the topic—it will help you know what to do in each problem.

Arithmetic is the branch of math that deals with adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing numbers. You'll see problems like 7 + 5 or 12 − 4.

Always work from left to right unless there are parentheses. For multiplication and division, do those before addition and subtraction when they appear in the same expression.

Examples
3 + 5 = 8
12 − 4 = 8
6 × 4 = 24
20 ÷ 5 = 4
