Understand Inequalities before you start

Read this if you're new to the topic—it will help you know what to do in each problem.

An inequality like 3x > 9 asks which values of x make 3 times x greater than 9. So we need 3 × x > 9.

Try numbers: x = 3 gives 9, which is not > 9. x = 4 gives 12, which is > 9. So x = 4 (or any larger number) works. Pick the smallest such value from the options.

3x > 9 → x = 4 (or 5, 6, …)
2x > 7 → x = 4
