Elapsed time is how much time passes between two clock times. There are 60 minutes in one hour.

Example: From 2:30 to 3:15, from 2:30 to 3:00 is 30 minutes, and 3:00 to 3:15 is 15 minutes, so total is 45 minutes. You can also subtract: 3:15 is 195 minutes from midnight, 2:30 is 150, so 195 − 150 = 45.
